Such chemicals can include surfactants, which you can find in detergents and cleaning products because they make dirt or oil easier to wash away. Here’s what you need to know about surfactants and how they affect us.
Now that you have an idea of what these chemicals are, you can better appreciate scientists and wastewater treatment plants. While surfactants are indeed helpful in keeping dishes and clothes clean, it has to be disposed of properly through treatment. Only through further study can we come up with better surfactants that will have less of an impact on the environment.
