Ecosystem joins parent company Metro Pacific Water (MPW), as well as affiliate Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (MWSI) in the 39th Philippine Association of Water Districts National Convention in Iloilo City. Metro Pacific Water showcased a booth featuring its portfolio companies Laguna Aquatech Resources Corporation (LARC), Metro Iloilo Bulk Water Supply Corporation (MIB), and Ecosystem Technologies International, Inc. (Ecosystem) as powerful examples of the theme of this year’s convention: Water District Options and Solutions for Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation.
Ecosystem in particular is known for its sustainable sanitation technologies that leapfrog interim approaches; specifically the preference for stand-alone septage management treatment. Ecosystem’s 3rd generation proprietary Sequence Bio Reactor provides much more than a septage management solution — it primes the municipality for the more appropriate and environmentally beneficial sewage treatment solution.
Furthermore, Ecosystem showcased in the MPW booth its success in sustainable water supply technology: The bulk water treatment plant for the Butuan Water District. Over the past year it has consistently provided up to 30,000 CMD of drinking water without interruption, throughout both the monsoon season as well as the typhoon season. The plant can handle turbidity levels up to 10,000 NTUs.
The Convention was held on February 7 to 9, at the Iloilo Convention Center. Aside from the exhibit from vendors and service providers, it included recreational activities for PAWD members as well as a Technology Summit, and Technical Sessions for the attendees.
